Waterton Canyon
Difficulty: 6/10
Located in Littleton, CO, this is an easy drive for anyone in the Denver-metro area. It is a 6 mile run to the top of the canyon before you turn around for a total of 12 scenic miles. For as long as it is, there’s only about 200 ft of elevation gain for the whole run. In the winter time, this place is a WIND TUNNEL.
Highline Canal
If you’re in the Denver area, there is a good chance you’re within a mile of this trail. It is one of the longest in the nation at 71 miles long. I came here for almost all of my post injury runs. The soft dirt at the south end of the trail is extremely forgiving.
Cherry Creek Trail
Another amazing and long trail that spans 40 miles through the Denver-metro and surrounding. This one is mostly paved and depending on which trailhead you use, you will find a plethora of views.
